Indie Boots Film Festival is thrilled to guest curate "Queer Shorts at Reel Love" for Reel Love Film Festival 2012. This 90 minute program brings a diverse group of LGBTQ short films to Madison, WI. From award-winning festival favorites to new experiments in queer cinema, this program has something for everyone, with comedies, dramas, animation, documentaries, foreign films, music films, funded projects, micro-budget, and even a film featuring UW alumni. Fluid

  • Fluid is hilariously breaking the tea/coffee binary! In this playful satire on strictly enforced identities, androgynous Angie's transgressive coffee drinking threatens not only her friendships, but also her position on the tea-drinkers-only "Ice Teasers" flag football team.

The Queen of My Dreams

  • As a young girl, Fawzia Mirza fell under the spell of Bollywood heroines and their promise of love and feminine perfection. As an adult, she looks back and re-imagines the epic romance in the classic film, "Aradhana," in a new light.

Make A Mate

  • Half uses live action, animation and post-production techniques to introduce us to two women unknowingly sharing one story.

Babymaker

  • Three unhappy people end up in the right place: a Dance Band concert! This music video for Dance Band's "Babymaker" was made by Rogue Set Media.

Marimacho

  • Eight year old Coco thinks that "marimacho" is a name, like Mari Luz or Mari Nieve. It's actually a homophobic insult - but nothing can diminish the magic of first passing as a boy.

Heartland Transport

  • Heartland Transport is a short documentary following Ed Reggi and Scott Emanuel as they chartered a bus to take couples from St. Louis, Missouri to Iowa City, Iowa to obtain marriage licenses, immediately after the Iowa Supreme Court unanimously upheld the ruling holding that there was no governmental interest in denying citizens marriage licenses based on their sexual orientation.
